   I think they both are wonderful and there is no big difference between them that makes one better than the other. I’ve fed both to my dogs and they love both and did well on both. Labs are a large breed so I would give them the large breed formula.

   All three are good. We use Merrick brand. They have a puppy formula (Merrick Puppy Plate) and different flavors of Merrick All Life Stages. If you choose Merrick, I would go right to the All Life Stages formulas.

   I’ve used Merrick on all of my dogs…I do like Natural Balance, based on the ingredients but not based on their recall history…But everyone here likes their Merrick food, and everyone is at good weight, energy levels are high (which is very important for my team), and most importantly healthy.

   I would go for Wellness…. choose the brand that has the most meat in it (defined sources… not ‘animal fat’). Choose stuff where the first 4 ingredients (or more) goes something like this (chicken, chicken fat, beef, barley, ocean fish meal, and then goes into more grains).
   Natural Balance is a good food, but most of their ingredient panels read something like one meat followed by a carb like potatoes.

   Whichever you choose, go for the one that has the most meat.

   I feed Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul (something worth checking out -very good food!) but would love to feed Innova Evo.

   Wellness is higher up on the dogfoodanalysis.com website. And they just came out with a large breed puppy food which is awesome!
