What’s the best chemical-free way to prevent weed growth in the cracks of my sidewalk?

I’ve heard a solution vinegar and salt works. Any truth to this?

Try the horticultural vinegar available through your local gardening center. It’s 10 percent vingar versus the cooking kind which is only about 2 or 3 percent. (Just remember it’s like a poison, so DON’T use it to cook with) Works like a charm every time! Plus, vinegar doesn’t trans-locate (move through the dirt when it rains), so you don’t have to worry about it harming any grass or plants nearby.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t vinegar and salt both chemicals??? If you want zero chemicals then you have to burn them out with a propane torch.Otherwise, just use Triox. It works great and much better than Roundup.

Vinegar and salt, applied in a pump up sprayer, use sparingly and carefully. Couple times in the spring & summer should do it.
