I am constantly removing dandelions from my yard with a small weeding shovel. The very next day, I see another 20 – 50 dandelions on the lawn. What has worked for you to remove these pesky buggers without pesticides?
Get yourself the right tool for the job. I have an implement that looks like a trowel but is only 2 inches wide. It slides down the side of the root and lifts the weed out with minimal disturbance. Water the weed thoroughly about 10 minutes before you do this.
I pick my dandelions if i don’thave time to dig them out. At least they won’t seed everywhere so it saves time later on.

They are pesky buggers – its because they go from flower to seedhead in less than a day.
Provided there are not too many, a kettle of boiling water will kill them.

There is a device (an auger) that attaches to an electric drill that will root out the dandelions however the cordless drill I have is quite heavy which does not save a lot of energy. A lighter drill would make the job easier but I am too cheap to buy one.
Also you must get them before they go to seed or you will not get rid of them for at least 1 season.

Start picking the flowers..that way they wont go to seed and spread. I use the garden claw too.

Just like you, elbow grease, but I use a Fiskars weeder so I don’t have to get on my knees in the garden.
There’s a pic on this link.

It has lasted well. This is the third summer for it. It really pulls out the whole dandelion, root and all.
By the way, there are different varieties of dandelions which bloom in different seasons and that’s why they ALWAYS seem to be coming back. The other thing is that the seeds are carried on the wind and we can’t weed everyone’s lawn.
