None of these are chemical free. Thanks for the responses though. I worry about these chemicals seeping into my newborns skin. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about organics. I mean its no wonder cancer is rampant.
There are a couple of detergents out there for babies…
Ivory Snow, Baby All, Dreft, you can also use "Free" detergents free of dyes and scents as well.
I usually use Ivory Snow for my baby’s clothes it’s cheap as well and it works on the stains and it’s doesn’t irrate her skin.

You’d have to google the product name if you are elsewhere in the world to see if you can source it.

I have always used Dreft on all baby clothes that ive washed…some people use Ivory…but that can cause a serious alergic reaction for those with sensitive skin…

Dreft, and I know "All" has one as well. Just look at the labeling on the containers, they will tell you if they chemical/fragrance/etc. free.

The detergents that are safer for babies who might have allergies are free of dyes and perfumes, not chemicals. (They still all have chemicals.) Dreft is an option, as are All Free & Clear, Seventh Generation, Babyganics, Purex Free/Clear… Arm & Hammer has one, too. There are probably other options out there – they are not hard to find.
We bought one jug of Dreft and used that for the baby’s clothes until it was done (a few months). Then we tried one of the other (not branded for baby) brands and things have been fine.
Same thing with dryer sheets, BTW. It’s silly to pay six times as much for baby-branded ones when any that’s free of dyes and perfumes will have the same effect.
