If the moon was made of complete cheese and was earths’ only food supply how long would it last?

Assuming that the population stays at 7 billion poeple and that poeple eat 1440 lb a year.

whoever gets the answer correct get best answer ( I have the correct answer)

If the moon was made of an equal amount of cheese by mass:

Moon mass = 7.3477×10^22 KG
Mass eaten per year: 7*10^9 * 1440 = 10080 * 10^9 lb/yr = 4.5722111346576 * 10^12 kg/yr.
Moon mass / mass eaten per year = 16,070,342,737 years.

If you did equal cheese by volume, the result would vary based on what kind of cheese it was but, suffice it to say, it would be considerably less.

Additionally, and slightly off-topic, if the moon were made of spare ribs it wouldn’t last near as long; everyone would be having seconds.

your estimate is flawed, too many variables. People would die off from poor nutrition before it was all gone anyway

Even if it was I don’t believe it would be economically feasible to actually mine it. You didn’t specify the type of cheese or its density so I cant give you a specific answer to your question. I would also be living in constant fear of the huge herd of space cows that must have created it. Santa: He obviously meant the same volume of cheese, the same mass of cheese would probably be twice as big so the myth would never even be conceived.

Not very long, because wouldn’t the sun slowly melt it?

    81,000,000 tons x 2000 lbs. = 162,000,000,000 lbs.

7 billion people, 1440 lb a year, no population growth = 10,080,000,000,000 lbs.

    .01607 years
    = 5.7 days, roughly,

By day 8, no one would worry about starving, cuz after eating 4 (FOUR) pounds of cheese every day, the sound from everyone grunting on the toilet would be deafening!

    what KIND of cheese.

if a swiss guy said, "I vant Sviss cheesees!"

or a Dutch guy said "Gouda is gooda!"

or a Russian guy said "hey, wait? do we make cheese in Russia?"

I would like to take this moment to suggest Pinconning cheese. Yum. Its an aged colby. Get it sharp.

Now, if the Moon was made of cheese, you gotta go for the best, right?

time to invest in cheese factories.
