Well basically today i applied for food stamps because i lost my job and i obviously need to eat lol, So right now i am looking for a job but didnt find one yet. So I went down the the office today and applied , I got the food stamps but the lady that called it ..said it was "emergency food stamps" right now but i will get more later .. I was wondering what is emergency food stamps .. how much do u usually get for emergency food stamps.
INFORMATION ABOUT ME ~ I am 22 years old female living with my parents but they do not support me and i gave them a letter that my mother wrote, I dont have a job at this time so no income and no bank account. Could you please help me out and try to guess how much i will get for the emergency food stamps. She didnt tell me … she said it will be activated tomorrow morning after 11 and i can find out. Your social service worker should have told you the amount on the card. Just go out and use it to buy something small to eat and the receipt will tell you your food stamps remaining balance for the month every time.

Well, I am a mom of four so i DO understand your situation. This varies from state to state, but I am in Texas. Here, it usually depends on how many children you have, your economic situation, who u live with and things like that. Emergency food stamps are food stamps that a person can get the same day, usually within 24 hours to purchase food like in a emergency situation. I do know that many stated DO provide them- but I cant lie..I do not know the exact amount because like it varies from state to state. I can only assume since you are a single person- it may range (well in Texas) from 40 to maybe even 100 dollars.The case worker couldnt tell you how much because they have to enter your information and they have to wait for a response from the state- Which CAN take a while…most states are usually kinda slow. I know Texas can be. Some case workers can also be VERY mean and ask you for like a whole GANG of information- they did me that way. Anyway, I suggest that maybe you apply at your local office for a job through their workforce- they usually have help for finding a job. I really hope your situation improves and I hope I have helped you. Like I said, I dont know what state you are in, but maybe look on this web site to help.
