Ok here is the thing i had been working up untill 9-15-09 and that was the last time that i got paid the pay was $200 for 8-15-09–9-15-09 for childcare services and there was NO other income but that. I have 6 total people in my household now and no money for food and i filled out a food stamp application yesterday around 1:30pm online and when i clicked check status of application last night the first page that came up said expidited food stamp app. So does that mean that somebody has already started looking at it or what?
If somebody has not already started looking at it how long should it be before they do? The website said that it would be 24 to 48 hours to obtain emergency food stamps but nobody has contacted me yet. I did the screening form before the application and it said that i maybe elegiable for emergency food stamps.
Before the one i put in the other day i put one in on July 21st with not even an appointment set.

Why does everyone try to do everything online. If your situation on food stamps has changed and you now need them fast (as in a Emergency) How about calling your State or County Social Services Dept. and getting your application process status changed to Emergency status, in which case it would be handled immediately. In the meantime if your family needs food, maybe you can check for a list of local charities or Food banks that could help hold you over till your application is processed.
