not a rhetorical question, I’m curious
Oh, I guess you have a better system of survival you want to share with us…
everything could have been made vegetarian… also decay and death could have been done as continual transformations, such as catapillars to butterflies
One would think that he’d have a less violent way of sustaining us. But he’s a blood thirsty monster and he enjoys watching the carnage.

Chia (pronounced chee’ah) is the richest and only unprocessed, whole food source of pure Omega 3. A member of the mint family, Chia is native to Central America and has been used traditionally for over 3000 years. Ancient Aztec warriors prized Chia as an endurance promoting Superfood, eating it in bread just before battle and drinking it in water before running long distances. Due to its high fiber dontent, Chia seed absorbs up to ten times its weight in water, making it an excellent source of hydration. Omega3 Chia’s soluble fiber forms a gel that slows the absorption of sugar into the blood stream, binds it to toxins in the digestive system, and helps eliminate waste.*Omega3 Chia is especially rich in essential fatty acids and high-ORAC antioxidants like quercetin, caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid. As a result, Omega3 Chia seeds maintain a 99% sprout rate and have a shelf life of up to 5 years. Omega 3 Chia is biologically complete protein, making them the perfect survival food. Omega3 Chia is organically-grown, certified kosher and is pesticide, herbicide, gluten and GMO-free.

Good food and good service are important, but that’s FAR from a complete picture of what you’d need. Restaurant success depends on so many variables. That’s why food & beverage establishments have high failure rates.
Some other things you’ll need (and this is still an oversimplification):
–> Location, location, location (cliché, but true)
–> A simplified menu, allowing for a variety of dishes from few ingredients. (This will help you manage costs and keep your prices down.)
–> Consumer friendly interior and menu design. (The natural flow of traffic within the premises, and the ability to quickly scan a menu need to be accommodated, or the experience will create confusion and drive customers away. This is *not* the same as good or bad service.)
–> Differentiation. (If your restaurant is just the same as everyone’s else’s, it’s only a matter of time before your customer base erodes. You must be different, and reaffirm that difference with your consumers, or you’ll fall out of top-of-mind recall, and then you’ll really be on thin ice.)
Again, a "comprehensive" list of what restaurant needs to survive would have to be much longer, but these are some points to consider at least.

I try SO hard not to eat crap with preservatives, chemicals, e numbers etc in it. It’s not made for human consumption, we can’t digest it properly, I really don’t like how it makes me feel afterwards… so why doesn’t this stop me craving it in the first place?
I just got a peanut butter kit kat from the vending machine and it was friggin awesome. There is nothing of value in that, so why would it taste good to me? Shouldn’t our bodies crave the healthy nutritious stuff, depending on whatever we need a boost in? There was nothing of value in that kit kat, and yet I wanted it BAD. I will go on to feel a bit crappy for the rest of the afternoon and I know that, it’s happened many times before- and yet I know I will still want another one tomorrow.
Is it a flaw in our survival instincts? I think I could probably eat peanut butter kit kats all day and be happy… but I would die. What’s up with that?
Believe it or not, it is our human instincts that makes us love junk food. You see, they are full of fats and sugars. Fats being very high energy and sugars being very quick energy. Both are very important in a world where you haven’t eaten for 2 weeks (and that’s how it used to be). So we have learnt, which foods are going to see us through for the next 2 weeks and which aren’t. For example, a couple of cabbage leaves have nothing in them so chosing them over a large mammoth meat is not a wise choice because we could die of starvation in the next 2 weeks. We meant to eat this kind of food but only every 2-3 weeks. That way, we wouldn’t put on any weight.
