What should I major in in college if I want to get a job developing alternative energy technology?

I’d like to get a job helping to develop alternative energy sources like wave, tidal, and geothermal energy, but I’m not sure what the best college major would be for a field like that. Any suggestions?

Physics/Physical Chemistry, you would likely need to get a master’s and a PhD after your undergrad where you would do your thesis and doctoral work in the specific area you were interested in.

As a cheaper alternative to the salt lamps, we also sell small salt candle holders (about 1kg approx), which do work in the same way, but they cover a much smaller area for the negative ions. They are great to put in your bedroom, or lounge so you can appreciate the lovely candle effect. Great when you are having a party or entertaining as they do create a beautiful atmosphere! The warmth of the candle flame will still heat up the salt, which will then send out the negative ions. Place on your desk or computer when working or surfing the web, and you will benefit this way by being close to the ‘flaming salt holder’.,Ancient Secrets Himalayan Natural Rock Salt Lamps are hand carved salt products from the Himalaya Mountains of Pakistan. The warmth and natural beauty of the glow provided by these lamps makes them a wonderful accent for any room, as well as an outstanding and much appreciated gift for friends and loved ones. They provide a natural ambiance that enhances home and office, and are a perfect answer for providing Feng Shui cures for buildings that have “stuck” energy (chi).

Metal hydrides as alternative energy source?

I have an oral presentation to do on Metal hydrides as an alternative energy source. I tried to do some research on metal hydrides and all I come up with are published scientific research papers and people selling cells of metal hydrides.

I don’t want you to do my homework for me; I want to do it myself. But, could someone give me like an introduction or overview of Why/how is metal hydrides an energy source?

Thanks and 10 points for best answer!

From what little I know, they’re a powerful type of battery. Pretty much any chemical reaction that can be done in a sealed container can be used as a battery. It’s a matter of how much energy can be made in a small amount of space.
