im 14 and i listen to the 60s and everyone thinks im crazy for it, but i got out and tell other people about my favorite and music and have convert many to it, this is the first time i have ever heard this song or cat stevens and i am now a fan, tomorrow i am going and telling everyone about this song…

My parents listened …
My parents listened to this when I was a kid. They really believed there was a better world to come. I always picture them, in beautiful 70’s clothes, riding some train with Cat as the engineer, waving to everyone and the light is all golden like those photos from when we were kids in the early 80’s. And maybe Tom Waits is giving them the finger from underneath some bridge, I don’t know. It’s the 70’s.

Wikipedia is often wrong. I love Cat Stevens back then. He did support the murder/bounty of Ruski. Even though it did not happen, thank god. He did later recant. He was not wrongly accused though, not entirely. Example: Wikipedia said that John Lennon as a youth on clerics as a youth in church. Incorrect/wrong.

He was WRONGLY …
He was WRONGLY accused of saying things in a political sense that was taken totally out of content, Yusaf/Cat Stevens is not at all a Muslim extremist and he re-released this song after the 2001 terrorist attacks and it raised money for charity for the families of the victims. Read his Wikipedia entry and it explains all this.
